Brief Introduction 

The discipline of Traffic Engineering in Southeast University is one of the earliest Traffic Engineering discipline set in China, and is a national key discipline. The discipline is in the domestic leading position in the field of talent cultivation and scientific research. There’re 32 professors, 43 doctoral supervisors, 46 associate professors in the discipline, including academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, nationally outstanding teachers, Thousand Talents Program distinguished experts, distinguished professors in Cheung Kong scholars, winners of National Outstanding Youth Science Fund Project, selected candidates in national “Talents Project” in the discipline, and there’re 2 National Innovation Teaching Teams, and an innovation team of “Program for Cheung Kong Scholars and Innovative Research Team in University” . The discipline has formed a echelon with international perspective and team cooperation.

After developing for more than 20 years, the discipline takes the opportunity of “Project 211” and “Project 985” to expand new directions and promote competence of the discipline constantly, the comprehensive strength of the discipline is in the forefront of similar disciplines in domestic (the discipline ranked the first in China Discipline Ranking of 2012 evaluated by Ministry of Education). The discipline has also established long-term cooperative relationship with America, Japan, English, German, Australia and Netherlands, and has become domestic first-class and international influential base for scientific research and talent cultivation.

  

Training Objectives 

The students will enhance their capability of seeking truth from facts, rigorous learning, professional dedication, and the team spirit. Students will acquire solid and broad theoretical principle as well as systematical and in-depth professional knowledge in the field of highway and railway engineering, transportation planning and management, traffic information engineering and control, vehicle operation engineering, and Traffic mapping and information technology etc. Also the students will have the capability of doing scientific research independently and solving relevant technical problems and innovative consciousness ability. They will be competent for high-level research, teaching, and management etc.

Thesis



Literature Reading(for reference only, the same below)

Students are required to read at least 30 literatures on topics related to their thesis and research direction including no less than 15 literatures in foreign languages and to write a literature overview.

  

Thesis Writing

In addition to compliance with the provisions of school, thesis must be written in a systematic and complete manner, presenting clear concepts, correct argument, realistic description, concise writing structure, smooth and concise writing style, correct calculation, reliable data, and clear icons.

  

Thesis Evaluation

Thesis should be written based on students’ own study and research. The findings presented in the thesis should have higher academic value and positive impact on economic development of China. Students are required to conduct at least one year research and to publish at least 1 paper  in the area of their disciplines before being eligible for applying for a Master's degree.

Note: 

(1)The minimum total-credit requirements of Master's curricula: 28 credits for students of science and engineering; 30 credits for students of medical science; 34 credits for students of arts and management sciences. The minimum credit requirements of degree courses: 16 credits for students of science and engineering; 18 credits for students of arts, management science and medicine; other credits in non-degree courses.  In addition, students should obtain3 credits from compulsory courses.

(2) All courses are normally required to be completed within one and half years after registration.  Degree courses are normally required to be completed within one year after registration.

(3) Degree courses are subject to this course plan, non-degree courses can be chosen from “Graduate Courses Catalog”.
