The 3rd Jiangsu Traffic Science and Technology Contest for Undergraduate ,Transportation Engineering Star Cup, was held successfully in Southeast University during March 31st to April 3rd. This 3rd contest was jointly held by Southeast University and Nanjing Transportation Association.
Connectivity and Sharing are the main theme of this contest, which involves many fronts of transportation engineering such as Intelligent Network and Data Sharing(DS). Also it shows the contest spirit that communication, openness and inclusiveness. The contest builds a stage for undergraduates majoring in transportation engineering to present and cultivate scientific spirit and literacy.
On the basis of communication, openness and mutual learning, the organizing committee has invited 29 colleges and universities in China to join the contest, making it the largest Jiangsu Traffic Science and Technology contest held ever. Finally, 64 works from 26 colleges and universities stood out in the preliminary contest by two-way anonymous evaluation and made it to the final defence.
After a fierce rivalry, 6 works from Southeast Universities gained the first prize and 18 works from Nanjing Forest University won the second prize. Besides, 24 pieces of work from Nanjing Agricultural University and other universities got the third prize. Unmanned buses in Jiulonghu Campus accessible to all participants gained unanimous praise from visitors.
On April 1st, closing and awarding ceremony was grandly held in Southeast University. In the closing ceremony, Liu Baosheng, Vice President of Southeast and commission president of the 3rd Jiangsu Traffic Science and Technology Contest, delivered the closing speech and Zheng Jiaqiang, President of Institute of Science and Technology, represented organizing committee to make a speech. Besides, Guan Hongzhi, Secretary General of Sub Committee of Traffic Engineering in Transportation Education Committee, Education Ministry, made comments on this contest. Present members to closing ceremony include representatives from judges, organizing committee and so on.
Technology leads the future, innovation drives development. Jiangsu Traffic Science and Technology Contest for Undergraduate is building a great platform for communication among colleges and universities and also providing undergraduates with precious opportunity to know the forefront in the field of transportation and encouraging them to conduct independent exploration.
