About

Qiao Dong’s main research interests include data-driven pavement infrastructure maintenance and preservation, pavement test and performance evaluation based on artificial intelligence, transportation infrastructure instrumentation and sensing, multi-scale characterization and simulation of pavement materials, and development of sustainable pavement materials. He has been the PI for more than 14 research projects funded by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, the Ministry of Housing and Construction of China, the Department of Transportation and Communications of Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces. He has published four books by Elsevier, Springer, and Southeast Press. He has published more than 140 papers in SCI/EI journals and authorized 10 invention patents. He has served as a member of the Bituminous Materials Committee (BMC) of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Pavement Maintenance Committee (AHD20) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), and several academic committees of the World Transportation Congress (WTC). He is an associate editor of Cleaner Materials, an editorial board member of Coatings, and a young editorial board member of the Journal of Infrastructure Preservation and Resilience, China Journal of Highway and Transport, and Journal of Road Engineering. He has been reviewing manuscripts for more than 60 international journals and international conferences.
