Liu Pan

Pan Liu has been a professor at the School of Transportation at the Southeast University in Nanjing, China since 2008. He is currently serving as the Dean Assistant of the School of Transportation, the Associate Director of the Institute of Traffic Engineering, and the Distinguished Young Professor of the Southeast University. He is also serving as a visiting professor at the Institute of Road Traffic Management at the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China, a member of the expert committee of the National Associate of the Intelligent Transportation Systems, and the vice Chairman of the Young Scientists Committee of the National Transportation Association.

Prof. Liu received a B.S. degree from the Southeast University in 2000 and a Ph.D. degree in transportation engineering from the University of South Florida (USF) in the United States in 2006. After he received his Ph.D. degree, he spent one year as a post-doctoral researcher, and one year as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida in 2007. Prof. Liu’s research interests include traffic safety, traffic control, and intelligent transportation systems. He has been actively involved in more than twenty research projects in China and United States. He has published more than eighty peer-reviewed journal papers. Prof. Liu is the recipient of the Outstanding Youth Science Foundation of NSFC in 2013, and the award of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents funded by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in 2011.
