SEUTC Join Seminar: Hilary I. Inyang: Stabilization of Road Surface Soil Material Using Aqueous Polymers

On the morning of November 27th, Professor Hilary I. Inyang, a former Duke Energy Outstanding Professor in University of North Carolina at Charlotte, delivered an academic report entitled Stabilization of Road Surface Soil Material Using Aqueous Polymers. The host of this academic report is Associate Professor Liu Zhibin. The academic report focused on the engineering application of polymer and surrounding geotechnical problems. Postgraduates and teachers from Institute of Geotechnical Engineering had a deep discussion with Professor Inyang and they communicated the framework for future cooperation as well.

Professor Inyang concentrate on characteristics of pollutant exudate, raising dust of geotechnical materials, trap system, isolation material, energy system and reduction in geotechnical disasters and other research fields. There are over 260 academic papers, works and federal government design manual written by Professor Inyang. The English work, by an effort of collaboration between Professor Inyang and Lakshmi Reddi, Geoenvironmental Engineering: Principles and Applications gained popularity in geotechnical field. Professor Inyang is a former chief editor of Journal of Energy Engineering of ASCE and he is also editors of 29 journals. Professor Inyang was Chairman of Science Advisory Board Committee of American Environment Protection Agency for two consecutive terms from 1997 to 2001. He was rewarded National Science and Technology Medal of Nigeria in 2013 and he positions as Academician of the African Academy of Science and member of Geological Society of London. Meanwhile, Professor Inyang is the Chairman of Global Education and Infrastructure Service, Charlotte, North Carolina and core education team member of U.N Commission on Sustainable Development.
