Dr. Hao Wang is a professor at the School of Transportation of the Southeast University in Nanjing, China. He is currently serving as a member of the committee of the Chinese Association for System Simulation, and a reviewer for the journals of Transportation Research Part C, Transportmetrica A&B and Transportation Research Record. His research interests include transportation planning and management, traffic flow theory and application, and traffic safety.  

Born in September 1980Dr. Wang received his B.S. degree in traffic engineering and a minor degree in mathematical modeling and computer application from the Southeast University in 2002, and he received his Ph.D. degree in transportation planning and management from the Southeast University in 2008. He has worked as a visiting scholar at the Delft University of Technology between April, 2007 and July 2007. From November 2013 to November 2014he served as a visiting scholar at the University of California at Davis. 

Dr. Wang has been in charge of 4 sub-topics of the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China, 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 1 project of the Ph. D. Programs Foundation of Ministry of Education of China. He has served as an expert and completed a number of projects, including Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National High Technology Research and Development Program of China, Key Project in the National Science and Technology Pillar Program during the Eleventh Five-year Plan Period, China-Netherlands joint project and more than 20 other engineering projects. Dr. Wang has owned 18 Chinese patentspublished more than 60 papers in national and international journals and conferences. He also has worked as one of the principal authors and published 1 book “Traffic Management and Control”. In addition, Dr. Wang won the first prize of the Science and Technology Awards of the China Intelligent Transportation Systems Association and the first prize of the Science and Technology Awards of HuaXia Construction in 2012. In 2016 and 2017, Dr. Wang won the first prize twice of the Science and Technology Awards of China Highway and Transportation Society. In 2016, Dr. Wang won the second prize of the Science and Technology Awards of MOE of China.

Software Development and Application:

During 2012~2015, My group developed Video Vehicle Trajectory Extraction Tool Box for collecting traffic data automatically from traffic flow videos. The software has been used in daily traffic flow survey and data analysis by graduate students in Southeast University.
