Biography:

Prof. Li Wenquan was born in 1964 in Baofeng County of Henan Province. He received his doctor degree on Transportation Management Engineering from the School of Transportation, Southwest Jiaotong University in 1997. He did postdoctoral research in Transportation Engineering Postdoctoral Research Station  of Southeast University during 1997-1999. He has been engaged in education and research of transportation planning and management in School of Transportation in Southeast University since 1999. He is a member of editorial board of Journal of Southeast University. He was selected in the “Plan of Six Top Talents” in Jiangsu Province.

Prof. Li’s research focus on Theory and Methodology of Transportation Organization Optimization, Transportation Planning and Management, Traffic Flow Theory and Highway Capacity, Traffic Safety, etc.

In recent years, Prof. Li has participated in the Key Project of National Eighth Five Years Science and Technology Research Planning of China, “ Study on New Technology of HighspeedRailway Transportation (No. 85-402-02-01)”; and the Key Project of National Ninth Five Years Science and Technology Research Planning of China, “Study on Capacity of National Highway (No. 96-412-02-01)”; and the Key Project of National Tenth Five Years Science and Technology Research Planning of China, “OptimizationTechnology on UrbanPublicTransportationSystem (No. 2002BA404A04)”.

Prof. Li has taken charge for completing three projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including “Highway capacity analysis method of mixed traffic flow in transportation network (No.50078015)”,“Highway capacity analysis method of interchange system in urban (No.50478071)”, “Transit capacity mechanism and analysis method of at-grade exclusive bus lane ( No.50978057)”, etc. He has also taken charge for completing the Project of National High-technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program ) “Key Technology Research on Urban Conventional Public Transit Intelligent Operations Scheduling (No.2007AA11Z210)”, and the Sub-task of National Eleventh Five Years Technology Support Planning of China “Urban highway Capacity and Traffic System Evaluation Methods (No. 2006BAJ18B03)” and National PostdoctoralFundation of China Project “The Coordination of Highway Capacity between Section and Intersection inRoad Network(24th in 1998)”.

Prof. Li has also taken charge for many research projects authorized by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communications, Liaoning Province, Hebei Province, Henan Province, Qinghai Province. Besides, he also taken charge for many research projects commissionedby municipal governments, including NanjingNantongYangzhouKunshanZhangjiagangChangshuQidongTaicangGaoyouJiangdu of Jiangsu Province; ShaoxingNingboWenling,Shangyu of Zhejiang Province; JinchengChangzhiLinfen of Shanxi Province; Pingdingshan , Zhengzhou of Henan Province; Jinan of ShandongProvince; Shijiazhuang of Hebei Province.

Currently, Prof. Li is working on the National BasicResearch Program of China (973 Program) “Synergistic mechanism and coupling theory of public transport oriented multi-modal transport system (No.2012CB725402)” and some projects commissioned by municipal governments such as Zhangjiagang, Nanjing, Shaoxing, and Jincheng.

Prof. Li has been rewarded many awards, including the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Jiangsu Province, the third prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Liaoning and Hebei Province, the first prize of the sixth Natural ScienceExcellent AcademicPaper of Nanjing, the third prize of Science and Technology Award of NationalHighway Institute, etc.

Prof. Li has published more than 90 papers, among which over 60 are indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP. He has published 4 college textbooks and 4 monographies, for which he received Excellent Textbook Publishing Award by Chinese Ministry of Education. Besides, he possesses more than 10 proprietary computer software copyrights and patents.
