Lei Zhang is a professor in Intelligent Transportation Research Center/ School of Transportation at Southeast University in Nanjing, China. He was awarded as outstanding youth teacher of Southeast University and was also included in Six Talent Peaks Project of Jiangsu Province.
He graduated from School of Transportation at Southeast University in 2000 and got a B.S. degree. He received a master degree and a Ph.D. degree in 2004 and 2007 respectively, in the same school. During 2009 to 2011, he worked as a postdoctoral scholar in Department of Structural Engineering at University of California, San Diego.
He has participated in more than forty research projects in China and United States. He has published more than fifty peer-reviewed journal papers. And he has got more than 10 patents. He is currently serving as Ph.D.Advisor.
His research interests includes transportation infrastructures testing and monitoring (includes airport and High-speed railway), road & runway pavement design and maintenance, road design method & innovative technology based on sponge city concept, and semi-flexible pavement theory and application.
