Wang Wenwei, born in December 197, is a professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Transportation, Southeast University, and director of new material composite structure bridge research center. In 2003, he received a doctor's degree in Structural Engineering from Dalian University of technology. In July of the same year, he joined the School of Transportation of Southeast University to engage in teaching and scientific research of bridge engineering. During 2011-2013, he went to the Department of civil and environmental engineering of Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a visiting scholar for many times. From February 2011 to February 2012 and from August 2017 to September 2017, he went to the Department of civil and environmental engineering of University of Pittsburgh and the Department of civil and environmental engineering of University of California Berkeley as a visiting professor/visiting scholar with full funding from the national scholarship.
For a long time, he has been engaged in the research work of bridge structure reinforcement and repair, and the application of new materials in bridge engineering. The main research directions are: 1) anti collision damage assessment and protection of bridge structure; 2) application of new materials in bridge structure; 3) intelligent construction and operation and maintenance of bridge structure; 4) repair and reinforcement of bridge structure; 5) composite structure bridge; 6) durability and corrosion protection of bridge concrete . As the project leader, he presided over 3 general projects of NSFC, 6 provincial and ministerial projects, and more than 30 enterprise cooperation projects; published and participated in the compilation of 1 monograph and 1 national planning textbook; published more than 100 articles, more than 30 of which were included in SCI and more than 60 were included in EI, with H index of 11; authorized 18 national invention patents; won 10 awards for scientific and technological progress and technological invention of the China highway society, Liaoning Province, Jiangsu Province and Hubei Province.
He is a member of international society of bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), a member of bridge and structure branch of China highway society, a member of new materials and new structures Committee of China Architectural Society, and a member of structural composite materials Committee of Jiangsu composite materials society. He has been a member of International Conference organizing committee and chairman of branch for many times. In addition, he is also a peer review expert of more than 50 journals at home and abroad, such as journal of construction and building materials, Journal of composites for construction (ASCE), Chinese Journal of highway, engineering mechanics, Journal of building structure, etc.

RC structural elements strengthened with non-prestressed FRP and prestressed FRP sheets/plates;
RC columns seismic strengthened with high ductility fiber reinforced cementitious composites material (ECC);
Bond behavior of interface between the different materials (i.e. FRP-concrete interface; FRP-ECC interface and ECC-concrete interface);
Static and fatigue performance of steel-FRP-concrete girder/deck;
Durability of protection of concrete under the harsh environment.
