运输系统规划与管理团队自2009年11月成立以来，已经构筑了明确的发展战略、产学研合作机制，并专注核心理论和关键技术的建设，取得了系列标志性成果，形成了博士后—博士研究生—硕士研究生—本科SRTP组成的结构合理的链式研究体系。
运输系统规划与管理团队以研学互动、学术交流、项目研讨等方式开展了一系列科研创新活动。研学互动包括国内外经典文献专著的导读、重点专题的研讨、专业软件学习以及本科毕业设计与SRTP指导，帮助多名本科生和SRTP学生荣获优异成绩；学术交流包括跟踪国际前沿研究，进行论文写作指导，凝练发表高水平学术论文；项目研讨方面，积极与国内同领域研究团队（CFK、中交第一公路勘测设计研究院、江苏省交通规划设计研究院、南京城市与交通规划设计研究院、江苏省交通科学研究院）建立产学研一体化机制，进行课题合作与交流。
团队的理论和应用研究方向主要聚焦于城市轨道交通线网规划、区域综合运输体系规划、运输经济与运营、公路运输枢纽班线组织设计、高速公路运行分析与管理、综合客运枢纽规划与设计、城市与城乡公共客运规划与组织等方向。
团队建立了以纵向课题研究为引领，横向科技咨询服务为支撑的产学研一体化研究体系，并通过专著和教材、硕博士学位论文和科技论文、技术咨询报告的形式形成了系列标志性研究成果。近年代表性的成果主要有《干线公路与城市结点衔接交通规划方法与应用》《城乡公共客运发展机理与组织方法》《轨道交通运营初期公共交通系统优化方法》《城市轨道交通网络演变机理及生成方法》《城乡公共客运规划与组织》《城市多模式公共交通运行协调优化方法》等专著；编写了《交通运输工程学》《城市客运枢纽规划与设计》等教材；完成了《快速城市化地区城乡公共客运运行组织优化研究》《淮安市现代有轨电车运行安全保障技术研究》《温州市县道公路网调整规划及相关课题研究》《中央型铁路综合客运枢纽交通组织及规划设计研究与应用》《江宁区城乡公共交通统筹发展策略研究》《无锡轨道交通1、2号线开通地面公交线网调整规划》等多项科研及技术咨询项目；正在开展《高平市综合交通规划》《赣州市农村客运规划》等项目；并在国内外高水平期刊上发表了一系列研究成果。

The theory and application of the team are mainly focused on the planning of urban rail transit network planning, regional integrated transport system planning, transportation economy and operation, highway transportation hub line organization design, expressway operation analysis and management, integrated passenger transport hub planning and design, Urban and urban and rural public transport planning and organization and other direction.
