Introduction to the Course (including objectives and requirements)
As a specialized course for undergraduates, this courseaims to help students understand the related knowledge of transportation systemlike road network design, urbantransportation assignment of dynamic traffic and parking management of statictraffic, planning and designing of pedestrian and bicycle system, public transportation system, the relationship oftransportation, environment and energy and Intelligent Transport System.
The course includes the following aspects:
1. Road Hierarchy,roaddesign,urban transportation network,trafficdistribution, urbanroad network gradation,network capacity
2. Vehicle parking survey, trafficimpact analysis, roaddangerous point improvement and so on. Have a preliminary understanding ofurban static traffic through parking management and traffic impact analysis.Judge and improve the dangerous point by traffic management and treatment method, know the causes of accidents and concept of conflict and accident.
3.Pedestrianand bicycle system planning & design, public transportation system; thefeatures and coordination of pedestrian system, bicyclesystem and public transport system
4. The influence of transportation system toenvironment and energy, ITS (Intelligent Transportation System); therelationship between transportation system and energy, environment; how toachieve operation of transportation system in a clean and efficient way.
5.Combinedwith teaching content and given cases, help students cultivate hands-on abilityand comprehensively understand the operation and management of transportationsystem.
