Introduction to the Course (including objectives and requirements)
As the disciplinary compulsory course, this course aimsto provide students with comprehensive professional education, including thedirection introduction, job markets, industry status introduction, professionalskill introduction, and related law and regulations. Discussion will be held inthe course and industry insiders will be invited to share experience withstudents. Helped with the specific cases, students will have a betterunderstanding of the technical skill of transportation engineering and thecareer orientations, meanwhile establishing high professional ethics and legalconcept.
Introduction to the Main Instructor:
Lu Jian, doctor, professor, MA and doctoralsupervisor, now is the Deputy Dean of Transportation School of SoutheastUniversity and the Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratoryof Transportation Planning and Management. Prof. Lu has joinedthe New Century Excellent Talents Project of the Ministryof Education, and has been selected as middle-aged academicleaders of Jiangsu Province. He has received the title of theNew Long March Shock Worker of Jiangsu Province, and JiangsuOutstanding Science and Technology Worker. Lu has long been committedto the teaching and research in the field of transportation, and themain orientation of his research is transportation planning, transportationsecurity, transportation management, etc. He has been in chargeof or participated in more than 10 national researchprojects such as 973 Project, the National EleventhFive-Year Technology Support Program, the NationalNatural Science Foundation Program, etc., and has received two awards forthe National Science and Technology Progress, the second prizeof the National Teaching Achievement Award, and seven awards for theprovincial and ministerial Scientific and Technological Progress. He haspublished 2 monographs and over 50 papers, received twonational invention patents.
