Introduction to the Course (including objectives and requirements)

Asa disciplinary optional course for the graduates, this course is to be taughtin English. The course aims to give comprehensive introduction to network modelin the transportation program. Through specific research projects, after-class readingand class discussion, the course can stimulate students’ research interest;cultivate students’ research ability in related fields, and promote students’English ability.

 

Introduction to the Main Instructor:

MajidSarvi, male, professor, senior lecturer of Monash University; Published morethan 100 papers in the journals and conference; Guest Editor of TransportationResearch Part C; Member of the three groups of TRB, namely transportationnetwork modeling group ADB30, traffic flow theory group AHB45, Trafficsimulation subcommittee AHB451; Research interestsinclude transportation network optimization, transportation network modelingand optimization, dynamic network simulation, modeling and analysis, dynamicmodeling of jostling pedestrians, analysis and modeling of driver’s behavior,traffic flow theory, modeling and operation of public transportation networksand intelligent transportation.

Dr. Ma Yongfeng, born inDingzhou, Hebei Province in 1980.03, is now instructor of the School of TransportationEngineering of SEU. He graduated from the School of Civil Engineering of HebeiUniversity of Technology, successively obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in theDiscipline of Transportation and Civil Engineering and Master’s Degree in theDiscipline of Structural Engineering. In 2007, he got his Doctor’s Degree ofEngineering in the Discipline of Transportation Planning and Management of theSchool of Transportation Engineering of SEU and ever since, he has been engagedin the teaching and research here. Specializing in the research on road trafficsafety and ITS, in recent years, he has taken part in various projects ofnational, provincial and ministerial levels, joined in the compilation of 4 monographsand published more than 10 papers.
