Peng Jiankun, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, is one of the top 2% of scholars in his fields in 2022 and 2023, and a "Zhishan Young Scholar" (A-level) at Southeast University. A.Prof. Peng completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the School of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology in June 2016 supervised by Professor He Hongwen. From June 2016 to November 2019, A.Prof. Peng worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Engineering Research Center for Electric Vehicles at Beijing Institute of Technology. From December 2019, he has worked in the School of Transportation at Southeast University, serving as the Deputy Director of the "Vehicle-City Integration Innovation" Team, "New Energy Vehicle Power System Joint Test Center", "Intelligent Chassis Brake by Wire System Joint Test Center", and "Intelligent Road Traffic Digital Scene Joint Laboratory".

A.Prof. Peng aims at the interdisciplinary innovation frontier of vehicle engineering and transportation engineering, devoting to the application and breakthrough of deep reinforcement learning and artificial intelligence theory in the fields of new energy vehicles, intelligent connected vehicles, intelligent transportation infrastructure, and autonomous transportation systems. His research interests include multi-objective control of new energy vehicles, intelligent driving decision-making and control, group control of autonomous electric-driving transportation equipment, and energy management for all types of new energy vehicles.

A.Prof. Peng has successively presided over three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (two general projects and one youth project), one specific topic of the National Key Research And Development Program, three provincial-level science and technology projects, one research funding project for outstanding young teachers at Southeast University, one "Course Ideology and Politics" project at Southeast University, and three million-level industry-university-research cooperation projects from OEM/Tier1 enterprises in the field of intelligent connected new energy vehicles. He also participated in more than 10 national-level vertical projects, including the Automotive Industry Joint Foundation of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Program, and the National Defense Basic Research.

A.Prof. Peng cooperated deeply with several international and domestically famous companies in the fields of new energy vehicles, autonomous driving, and automotive parts, whose research results had been applied in the world's top-class new energy bus enterprise Zhengzhou Yutong and multiple military vehicles. He was awarded the first-class prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education in 2022 (ranked second), the first-class prize of Technology Invention of the China Automotive Industry in 2018 (ranked fourth), the second-class prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2019 (ranked third), the second-class prize of National Defense Technology Invention in 2016 (ranked fifth), the third-class prize of Technology Progress of the China Automotive Industry in 2019 (ranked third), and the 24th China Patent Excellence Award (second inventor). He won the Highly Cited Article Award from the top SCI journal Applied Energy from 2016 to 2017, the "Excellent Paper Award" at the first Annual Conference of Vehicle Control and Intelligence of the Chinese Association of Automation in 2017 (annually only), the Outstanding Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics in 2022, and the Excellent Paper Award at the 2022 World Transportation Conference. Prof. Peng was awarded the first "Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow" at Beijing Institute of Technology (top 5%). Along with students under his supervision in innovation and entrepreneurship, Prof. Peng won the first-class Entrepreneurship Scholarship of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (the only one in the university), the first place Excellent Entrepreneurship Teams for College Students in Beijing, the silver award of the "Creating Youth" Capital Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the second-class prize of the "Shenbao Zhixing Cup" National University Automotive Innovation Invitational Competition by BAIC Group.

A.Prof. Peng has published over 100 papers in well-known journals and conferences with a cumulative impact factor of over 200, of which more than 40 were indexed by SCI journals and more than 60 were indexed by EI, including over 30 first/corresponding authors, 5 highly cited ESI papers and 1 hot paper in thousandth. His papers have been cited nearly 4000 times in Google Scholar (H-index=27) and more than 2000 times in Web of Science. He has been granted 16 national invention patents and 8 computer software copyrights. He was an editorial board member of the Electric Vehicle Engineering Manual, participated in the overall editing and revision of the second chapter Design of Hybrid Electric Vehicles, and wrote Overall Design of Energy Management Strategies for Hybrid Electric Vehicles in Chapter 4.

A.Prof. Peng served as the Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the China Vehicle Control and Intelligence Conference (CVCI 2022), Chairman of the Electric Vehicles Branch of the International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE 2016), and Chairman of the Vehicle Dynamics Branch of the Automotive Frontier Technology Youth Scholars Forum (Auto E 2017). He was a specially appointed expert of the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center, a member of the Technical Expert Committee of the China Automotive R&D Software Industry Innovation Alliance, a member of the Autonomous Driving Working Committee of the China Highway & Transportation Society, a member of the Collaborative Development Alliance of Intelligent Vehicles and Smart Cities, a communication review expert of the National Natural Science Foundation, and a technology consulting expert of Jiangsu, Shanxi, and Shandong provinces. He presented papers and posters more than 10 times at international conferences overseas, serving as a reviewer for more than 10 well-known SCI journals in the fields of automobiles, energy, and transportation, and reviewing over 100 papers in recent years.
