Dr. Yongjun Shen is a full professor of the School of Transportation at Southeast University in China. He received his Ph.D in Transportation Sciences from Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) of Hasselt University, Belgium in 2012, and continued to work in Hasselt University as a postdoc researcher and later an assistant professor. From October 2017, he started to work at the School of Transportation of Southeast University.


Dr. Shen’s current research interests include traffic and transportation safety, behavior-related data mining and decision making, naturalistic and simulated driving, smart and sustainable transportation, etc. During the past years, Dr. Shen has coordinated and participated in a number of transportation-related research projects funded by EU, FWO, IWT, NSFC, MOST, etc., based on which he has published over 120 articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals, books, and conferences, such as Transportation Research Part C/D/F, Accident Analysis and Prevention, etc., and has obtained more than 10 patents. In addition, he has served as an editorial board member of the international journal of Human-Centric Intelligent Systems, as a guest editor of several international journals, such as Transportation Research Part D, and as an international program committee member of several international conference series, such as FLINS, ISKE, and WTC.
