Major Achievements and Engineering Applications

The School has conducted 207 national major research projects, including National Major Basic Research Program 973, National High-Tech R&D Program 863, National Sci-Tech Support Plan to Tackle Key Difficulties and National Natural Science Foundation of China. The School is also active in a series of major engineering projects in China, e.g. Smooth Traffic Project (Leading Institute), Expressway, Yangtze River Bridge, Metro projects, National Road Traffic Safety Technology Action Plan, etc. The achievements include 11 National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, 1 National Technological Invention Award, 126 scientific and technological progress awards at provincial and ministerial levels, with the research funding of over 0.5 billion RMB in the recent five years.

  

The School has undertaken a series of national major research projects with significant influence:

Ø 31 projects of National Sci-Tech  Support Plan to Tackle Key Difficulties

Ø 162 projects  ofNational Natural Science  Foundation of China

Ø 15 key projects of National  Western Transportation Technology Research Program

 

In addition, it has participated  in a series of major engineering projects in China:

State ‘Smooth Traffic Project’: As  the expert team leader unit of ‘Smooth Traffic Project’, the school has  established Urban Traffic Control Planning Technology System and offered  technological support for simultaneous development of ‘Smooth Traffic Project’in  over 600 cities in China. It has also conducted the job of urban traffic  planning system in over 200 cities and has accomplished more than 140 traffic  planning projects in different areas:

Ø Urban road traffic planning: in 38 cities including Nanjing,  Zhengzhou, Shenyang, etc.

Ø Urban public transport planning: in 36 cities including Wuxi,  Changzhou, Luzhou, etc.

Ø Urban traffic control planning: in 28 cities including Suzhou,  Shenzhen, Xuzhou, etc.

Ø Intercity highway traffic planning: in 39 provinces and cities  including Shandong, Hainan, Liaoning, Shaoxing, etc.

  

Highway Engineering: including  Shanghai-Nanjing Highway, Nanjing-Hangzhou Highway, Nanjing-Nantong Highway, Su JiahangHighway, Xu Lian Highway, Huai Jiang  Highway, Jing Fu Highway, Jing Shen Highway, He Xu Highway, Ning Jingyan  Highway, Ning Suxu Highway, etc.

  

Bridge Construction: including  Hangzhou BayBridge, Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge,  Sutong Yangtze River Bridge, Runyang Bridge, The Second NanjingYangtze River  Bridge,The Third Nanjing Yangtze River  Bridge, The  Fourth Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, Taoyaomen Bridge in Zhoushan, Dagu Bridge  in Tianjin, TaizhouYangtze River  Bridge, Wuhan  Tianxingzhou Rail Bridge, Tongling Yangtze River Rail Bridge, Jingyue Yangtze  River Bridge, Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge, Chongqi Yangtze River  Bridge, Delong Smoke Railway Bridge, The Second Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge of  Fuyin Highway,Ganjiang Railway Bridge of He Fu Railway, etc.

  

Rail Transit: including Nanjing  Metro, Wuxi Metro, Suzhou Metro, Changzhou Metro,  Zhengzhou Metro; Railways including Lian Yan Railway, Xiang Pu Railway,  etc.

  

Other important projects: Traffic  organization plan formulation and information management of The Tenth National  Games in 2005 and YOG in 2014.
