- Hot asphalt recycling is one of the most promising and sustainable ways to meet the challenge of global warming and careful management of limited material resources in durable pavement construction. Therefore, it is widely applied mainly based on empirical knowledge, still being aware that many technical and scientific open questions remain.
- With the recent rapid development of high-performance computing technology, it has now become increasingly feasible to apply the computationally demanding hydrodynamic models to predict or forecast the dynamic processes of flooding and other natural hazards, e.g. landslide and debris flow, over a large catchment but at high spatial resolution.
- The future mobility is ACES transportation with autonomous driving, connected systems, transportation electrification, and shared services. Smart Urban Mobility Laboratory at USF focuses on ACES transportation development, especially shared mobility, transportation electrification, and advanced air mobility (AAM)/ urban air mobility (UAM).
