Tu Ran, associate researcher of our Traffic Environment Engineering Team, was awarded the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award by Overseas Chinese Transportation Association

The 2019-2020 Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (COTA) Best Dissertation Award webinar was held online on February 23, 2021 (Beijing time). Ran Tu, associate professor of the traffic environment engineering team of our school presented her doctoral dissertation "Traffic Emission Modelling for Robust Policy Design in Connected and Electric Transportation" as one of the awardees.

The competition for the COTA Best Doctoral Dissertation Award this year was fierce, and the award-winning dissertations are widely recognized by the academia. A total of 4 doctoral graduates (two of them from Chinese universities and two from universities overseas) won this honor after a strict review process by the COTA committee.

Ran Tu received her Ph.D. degree from University of Toronto, Canada in April 2020, under the supervision of Professor Marianne Hatzopoulou, Canada Research Chair of Transportation and Air Quality. After graduation, she worked at UofT as a post-doctoral researcher. She joined the traffic environment engineering team of our school in October 2020 and was appointed as an associate professor. Her research interests include green transportation development strategies for the reduction of traffic emission and energy consumption.
