On March 9th, Zhang Zhongquan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Transportation Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Zhang Xingning, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Ningxia Jiaotou Group, visited Southeast University with a delegation of 10 persons. Left Weihui, Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, met with the delegation. Also present were Chen Jun, dean of the School of Transportation, Ding Jianming, director of the Transportation Planning and Design Institute, Luo Sang, director of the Research Base and Collaborative Innovation Office of the Science and Technology, Ma Tao, Liu Zhiyuan and Zhang Dingwen, vice deans of School of Transportation, Xu Sudong, director of the Department of Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering, and Yu Hao, Assistant to the dean. The meeting was chaired by Dean Chen Jun.
In the meeting, Secretary Zuo Weishi welcomed Director Zhang Zhongquan and his delegation. He emphasized the university's commitment to serving national strategic needs, addressing social concerns, and supporting significant industry demands through various initiatives. Secretary Zuo pledged the university's full support for school to deepen its collaboration and exchange with the Transportation Department of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The university aims to play an active role in serving the economic and social development of the western regions of China while expecting valuable suggestions and insights from the transportation system in Ningxia for various aspects of talent cultivation, discipline construction, and more. Ultimately, the goal is to work together to promote development, contribute to the construction of a strong transportation nation, advance high-quality development, and promote Chinese-style modernization.
Director Zhang Zhongquan highlighted the achievements made by the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in transportation development in recent years and proposed a comprehensive cooperation plan in building intelligence resources, technology research and development, and talent cultivation.
Both parties had in-depth discussions and exchanges on cooperation objectives, areas, and methods. Dean Chen Jun expressed his expectation for further strengthening cooperation and expanding opportunities in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, high-end think tanks, and talent development. This will contribute to more practical achievements and win-win outcomes in the construction and development of transportation in Ningxia.
