School of Tranasportation of Southeast University has Reached a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with KAMA-ATOM

On April 1st, 2023, the School of Transportation of Southeast University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with European KAMA-ATOM Automotive Company (hereafter referred to as ATOM), opening up Sino-European school-enterprise cooperation in the field of intelligent connected vehicles. Those present at the signing ceremony included Harald Grubel, Chief Operating Officer of ATOM, Wang Zhongwei, General Manager of ATOM Automotive Engineering and Technology (Nanjing) Co., Ltd., and Simon Zagainov, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of ATOM China. Also in attendance were Professor Chen Jun, Dean of the School of Transportation, Professor Wang Hao, Director of the Department of Intelligent Transportation and Space Information, Professor Ma Chunye and Teacher Peng Jiankun from the Vehicle-City Integration Innovation Team, and all members of the student body.

During the meeting, Professor Chen Jun, the dean of the School of Transportation, warmly welcomed the arrival of ATOM and introduced the overall situation of the school as well as its research achievements and technological advantages in the transportation field, wishing for a successful cooperation between the two sides. Director Wang Hao gave a brief introduction to the Department of Intelligent Transportation and Space Information. Harald Grubel, the Chief Operating Officer of ATOM, expressed high expectations for this cooperation. Both parties had in-depth discussions on future research directions, cooperation details, and other issues. Finally, they signed the strategic cooperation agreement. Professor Ma Chunye, on behalf of the Vehicle-City Integration Innovation Team of the Department of Intelligent Transportation and Space Information, signed the first-phase project contract with ATOM, and took a group photo to commemorate the occasion.

for three-electric integration, software development, thermal management, battery, motor, OBC, DCDC R&D, and integration testing. General Manager Wang Zhongwei hopes that both parties can engage in close cooperation in multiple fields and at deeper levels to promote the positive development and sustainable growth of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry.

This school-enterprise strategic cooperation will fully leverage the strengths of the School of Transportation at Southeast University in talent, technology, disciplines, and hardware and software conditions. Both parties will establish a multi-dimensional, multi-level, and multi-perspective strategic cooperation relationship in the research and industrialization of the theory and engineering development, verification testing, and other areas related to the electric vehicle control system, power system, and three-electric systems.

With the trend towards the intelligent and connected development of electric vehicles, the market for mass-produced driving assistance systems is rapidly expanding, and intelligent chassis control has also rapidly developed as a core technology for advancing higher levels of autonomous driving. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement is an important starting point for establishing cooperation between the School of Transportation at Southeast University and European enterprises in the field of intelligent connected electric vehicles. In the future, the School of Transportation at Southeast University and ATOM will focus on the research and development of intelligent driving assistance systems and intelligent chassis control, based on pure electric vehicles, and conduct in-depth cooperation to explore industry development needs, further promote the integration of science and technology, education, and talent development, and provide strong support for the construction of smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles in a coordinated manner. This will provide important support for promoting the pilot project of building Southeast University into a transportation power and serving national strategic needs.
