SPEAKER INTRODUCTION
Dr. Jiannan (Nick) Chen is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Chen's research focuses on the landfill containment system, life-cycle assessment of waste management, and waste geotechnics. Dr. Chen has received federal, state, and industrial funding on projects related to landfill geotechnics, waste management and recycling, and landfill emission and remote sensing. Nick is currently the board member of the A&WMA Florida Section and is serving as the associate editor of the Journal of A&WMA. Dr. Chen has published more than 40 journal articles in SCI-indexed journals.
