Professor Jiang Ningjun from the School of Transportation of Southeast University, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, published a paper titled The applicability of microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) for internal erosion control in gravel–sand mixtures. This paper was honored with the 75th Géotechnique Anniversary Early Career Award by the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK. The paper was featured in the 2017 edition of Géotechnique, one of the leading journals in the field of geotechnical engineering, with Professor Jiang Ningjun serving as both the first author and the corresponding author. On October 27, 2023, Professor Jiang Ningjun attended the 75th Géotechnique Anniversary Symposium hosted by the Institution of Civil Engineers and accepted the award. The 75th Géotechnique Anniversary Early Career Award is designed to recognize outstanding research achievements published in Géotechnique over the decade from 2013 to 2023 in three areas: soil micromechanics, bio-geotechnical engineering, and intelligent geotechnics, with only one paper being awarded annually in each category.
