Professor Xiong Wen's team won the Gold Award at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva

From April 17th to 21st, local Swiss time, the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva was grandly held at the Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland. Over 1,000 inventions from 45 countries and regions were exhibited, and more than 24,000 visitors attended the event. The Chinese delegation brought 197 inventions to the exhibition, winning a total of 70 gold medals and 97 silver medals. Professor Xiong Wen's team from the Bridge Engineering Department of the School of Transportation at Southeast University won the Gold Medal with their project Rapid Detection and Continuous Monitoring Technology for Bridge Scour and FBG Fiber Equipment. 


The International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, established in 1973, is jointly sponsored by the Swiss Federal Government, the Canton of Geneva, the City of Geneva, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). It is one of the world's longest-running and most influential international invention exhibitions. Known for its fair judging, large scale, and high authority and reputation in the international exhibition industry, its awards are widely recognized by governments around the world. Each year, thousands of inventions from about 40 countries and regions are exhibited, and an international jury selects the gold, silver, bronze, and special awards of the exhibition.
