On August 26,2024, the winners of the 6th XPLORER PRIZE were announced, with 49 young scientists on the list. Among them, Professor Liu Pan from our school was awarded this prize for his outstanding contributions in the field of transportation engineering and intelligent transportation.
The XPLORER PRIZE was established in2018 as a public welfare award funded by the New Oriental Science Foundation and led by scientists. It is currently one of the highest-funded projects for young scientific and technological talents in Main land China and Hong Kong and Mac ao regions. The award aims to support outstanding young scientific and technological workers who work full-time in Main land China, Hong Kong, and Macao regions, and who are 45 years old or younger (with a relaxation to 48 years for women), encouraging them to explore scientific no man's land with undivided attention. It is reported that a total of 1,012 people applied for the XPLORER PRIZE in 2024, including 590 applicants through free application and 422 nominees from experts.
