Transportation Planning and Management

The national key discipline of Transportation Planning and Management (TPM) at Southeast University is one of the leading research groups in transportation engineering in China. Since its foundation in 1996, the TPM discipline has earned its national and international reputation for its research and education in the areas of urban and regional transportation system planning, intelligent transportation system, and traffic safety. The TPM ranked NO.1 in the national key discipline evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE). Currently, the TPM discipline has over 30 faculty members, with 19 professors, 7 associate professors, and 7 assistant professors. Several faculty members have been awarded by national scholar programs such as the "Chang Jiang Scholars Program”, the “Thousand-Talent Program”, and the “Thousand Young-Talent Program."

  

Over the last decade, the TPM group has carried out more than 100 research projects, including 18 national (973 Program, 863 Program and Science and Technology Development Program) projects, 50 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, and 8 International Cooperation projects. Since 2000, the TPM discipline has won around 30 national and provincial prizes, and four of them are National Science and Technology Progress Awards. The TPM discipline strives for solutions and innovations to relieve traffic congestion, traffic safety, and other transportation issues. We welcome further co-operations with domestic and international agencies.
