In recent years, School of Transportation has increased foreign exchange and expanded international influence. It focuses on the internationalization of scholars, students and disciplines. The school also creates international academic atmosphere and supports service for the personnel training, scientific research and discipline development by promoting win-win cooperation.

  

The school takes the opportunity of the cooperative research project <Research on Key Issues in the Operation of the Urban Multi Mode Transportation System in the Process of Low Carbon Carbonization> by National Natural Science Foundation of China and British Engineering and Natural Sciences Research Council and also of the Science Fund Project <ITEM- Urban Evolution and Traffic Integration Model > by German Daimler Benz AG. It has established extensive cooperative relationship with more than 20 renowned universities abroad and international academic institutions including University of Stuttgart, The Ruhr University of Bochum, RWTH Aachen University, Benz Corp City INT transportation consulting company, Imperial College London, University of Newcastle , University of Southampton, Purdue University, University of South Florida, Texas A&M University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Delft University of Technology, Monash University in Australia, University of Waterloo, Saga University, Tokyo University,etc.

  

The school hosted over 20 high-level domestic and international academic conferences in different areas.

  

The school actively promoted students to take part in short and long term academic and cultural exchange programs overseas, with annual average of more than 30 undergraduate students abroad and more than 40 graduate students.

Joint Training Program for Transportation Engineering of Southeast University and Monash University

in Transportation Engineering

The Southeast University-Monash University Joint Master’s Program in Transportation Engineering was established in September, 2012. The joint Master’s program is undertaken over two years and students graduate with two Master’s degrees; one from Southeast University and one from Monash University. So far it is the only international joint graduate program in Transportation Engineering that is approved by the Ministry of Education of China.

Ø International Conferences Attended

The faculty and students at the School of Transportation have been actively involved in various international conferences, including the Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), which is held annually in Washington D.C. in the United States. With more than forty attendees in each year, the SEU faculty and students constitute one of the largest international delegations in the Annual Meeting of TRB. The TRB meeting also provides a gathering place where our faculty, students, and the alumni who live and work in different countries may communicate with each other.
